North Carolina-raised, New York-based rapper LUCI has dropped a fantastic new single, ‘Thunder Calling’. It’s a piece that takes inspiration from a broad variety of sources, from music, to art and film. The end result is something cinematic and almost impossible to define. It first presents soft, distant synth textures that her voice is able to soulfully command, but it quickly morphs into a gritty, electronic soundscape defined by crisp snares and wobbly bass. Lyrically, she sets the tone for her upcoming album with ideas about manifesting greatness amid life’s storms. LUCI’s debut album is a ten-track masterpiece called They Say They Love You.
